Natural Language Processing Systems
Topic for spring 2024: The Ecosystem around NLP Applications. Description for Spring 2024: Creating a usable, robust and extendable NLP system is an art, requiring good programming skills and machine learning practices. Moreover, NLP systems do not exist in a vacuum and building such a system often requires working knowledge of databases, web services and code packaging. This class will focus on the skills needed to build a real system, including software design, advanced coding, data handling, testing, building a website frontend backed up by a database, and using Docker containers. Students will work in groups and individually and will build an NLP system implemented in Python. |
