FA 193A 1 Studies in Modern and Contemporary Architecture
[ ca oc wi ]

Topic spring 2023: Engaging Across Racial and Ethnic Barriers: Islamic Architecture in the United States. This class draws upon the relationships between racism and white supremacy in the United States by studying the sacred spaces of the Muslim diaspora. This class's central questions are: How could sacred spaces of minorities be crucibles for constructing both difference and community across racial, ethnic, and religious lines? How do minority Prayer Halls contribute to racial inclusion and diversity within the larger community in the U.S?
